The Physician and the Folklorist

Musings on family life, folklife, medicine, and belief.

About Me

Name: Blain
Location: Washington state

I'm a family physician in a large non-profit HMO in the Seattle area. One of my great challenges is dealing with adult ADHD. I also am gluten intolerant, which can make dinner dates quite interesting. I speak French and Spanish, and I play guitar. Ashley and I have 3 young children. I grew up in Mesa, AZ, where I graduated from high school. I served an LDS mission to Montreal. After that I went and lived in Maui for a year before going to college at BYU. That's where I met Ashley. We got married and then moved away to the deep south, where I went to medical school. We then went back to UT for residency. After working in a rural community health clinic for 3 years, we moved to Seattle.
